Learn more skills while preparing a smorgasbord of international meals with a professional chef. Each week a different country will be explored. This course will build upon skills learned in Basic Cooking - Comfort Foods. This series of four classes is being taught by Stan Langston – with over 30 years of food experience including head chef of Stewart's Seafood Restaurant in Eastham, faculty dining room chef at the Harvard School of Government, culinary instructor at the Latham School in Brewster, and owner of Willow Tree Foods, provider of daily lunches to The Academy at Charlemont.

Here are the menus Chef Langston created to teach this fall:

  1. Italy - Chicken Parmigian, Herb Butter Linguini, Garlic Bread, and Garden Salad w/ Lambrusco Vinaigrette
  2. Korea - Marinated Bulgogi (Beef) Tacos, Vanilla & Green Tea Rice, and Kimchi and Cucumber Salad
  3. North Africa - Peri Peri Chicken, Sweet & Nutty Cous Cous, and Marrakesh Vegetable Curry
  4. Chile - Pork and Sweet Potato Stew, Citrus Flavored Rice, and Chilean Bean Salad
Classes meet for two and a half hours once per week for four weeks. Bring someone with you - the second person is half price (except ingredients). Locally sourced food will be used whenever possible.

Time: Wednesdays, beginning October 18th, 6:00 – 8:30 pm
Location: Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School
Individual: $150 for all four classes (plus $72 for ingredients payable to instructor)
Pair:
 $225 for all four classes (plus $144 for ingredients payable to instructor)
