Basic Cooking - Comfort Food
Learn the art of cooking delicious home-cooked meals with a professional chef. This 4 week course will introduce skills to be developed in a second course this spring, Basic Cooking - International Cuisine.
This series of four classes is being taught by Stan Langston – with over 30 years of food experience including head chef of Stewart's Seafood Restaurant in Eastham, faculty dining room chef at the Harvard School of Government, culinary instructor at the Latham School in Brewster, and owner of Willow Tree Foods, provider of daily lunches to The Academy at Charlemont.
Here are the weekly menus Chef Langston created to teach this spring:
Nantucket Clam Chowder, Cornbread, Cape Cod Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette and Goat Cheese
White Chicken Chili, Grilled Tortillas and Fruit, Spanish Rice
Burgundy Beef, Salad with Dried Fruits and Nuts and Herbed Spatzele
Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato Bisque with Shaved Chocolate, Maple Roasted Vegetables over Buttered Egg Noodles
Time: Wednesdays, 6 – 8:30 pm, February 28 – March 21
Individual: $150 for 4 classes (plus $72 for ingredients payable to instructor)
Couple: $225 for 4 classes (plus $144 for ingredients payable to instructor)
