Learn the art of cooking delicious home-cooked meals with a professional chef. Lessons will introduce basic skills which will be expanded upon in a second course this fall, Basic Cooking - International Cuisine. This series of four classes is being taught by Stan Langston – with over 30 years of food experience including head chef of Stewart's Seafood Restaurant in Eastham, faculty dining room chef at the Harvard School of Government, culinary instructor at the Latham School in Brewster, and owner of Willow Tree Foods, provider of daily lunches to The Academy at Charlemont.

Here are the weekly menus Chef Langston created to teach this fall:

  1. Rosemary Garlic Roast Chicken, Smashed Potatoes (Bacon optional), Roast Butternut Squash, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Zucchini, Summer Squash, and Sweet Potatoes with Lime
  2. New England Roast White Fish, Honey Buttermilk Corn Bread, and Goat Cheese Cranberry Salad with Homemade Maple Balsamic Dijon Vinegarette
  3. Steak Diane, Twice Baked Potato, and Watermelon, Strawberry, Feta and Scallion Salad with Italian Dressing
  4. BBQ Braised Pork, Sweet Potato French Fries with Honey Curry Ketchup, Brussel Sprouts, Kale, Carrot, Napa Cabbage and Scallion Cole Slaw with Maple Dijon Cole Slaw Dressing
Classes meet for two and a half hours once per week for four weeks. Bring someone with you - the second person is half price (except ingredients). Locally sourced food will be used whenever possible.

Time: Wednesdays, beginning September 20th, 6:00 – 8:30 pm
Location: Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School
Individual: $150 for all four classes (plus $72 for ingredients payable to instructor)
Pair:
 $225 for all four classes (plus $144 for ingredients payable to instructor)
