The American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider Course is the traditional instructor-led training program which trains healthcare providers in adult, child, and infant CPR and use of an AED.  This program ensures participants have ample understanding of resuscitation principles and the skills required to implement this knowledge effectively in a team environment.  

Objectives and Outcomes:

  • Describe the importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival will see measurable benefits from promoting and rewarding creativity, calculated risk-taking, and healthy competition among employees.
  • Describe all of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival.
  • Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR, perform high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants, describe the importance of early use of an AED and demonstrate its use, and provide effective ventilation by using a barrier device.
  • Describe the technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants.

This is a 3.5 hour class that includes American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider student workbook, pocket mask, and BLS Provider eCard (valid for two years).  eCards will be delivered to participants by email upon successful course completion.
